We had ice today! It sleeted from about 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. When I picked JoElle up from school at around 12:00, there was some ice on my car and she told me "I want to touch" so we played with it for a bit before going home.
After a LONG nap (I love how great she sleeps!) we got bundled up in her coat and played outside with the sleet on the ground. She liked it but told me how cold it was. What a great experience for her! Especially since we don't get much ice or snow here....... or even rain for that matter. I think we can count on our hands how many times it has rained since she was born :)
Thanksgiving 2006
We spent Thanksgiving Day with family; for lunch we visited Aunt Ana and Uncle Dan. JoElle ate a ton of food! She liked the turkey and ham and she ate the cranberry sauce when I called it jelly! Peyton didn't really want to eat, but he did want some of Nana's chocolate pudding. Madison slept and slept until it was almost time to leave. She is very sweet and has a peaceful demeanor! JoElle and Peyton played with "snow." Aunt Ana had this powder that you added water to and it made snow! They both liked it. We were pretending it was snowing.
That evening we visited Granny and Grandad for Thanksgiving dinner. JoElle enjoyed the Cajun turkey and the green beans. She couldn't eat any of the other food, it all had lactose in it. She had fun playing and showing off for them. Even after we got home, she was too excited to sleep!
The next day, we put up our Christmas tree after Daddy got home from work. JoElle loved it! We also put up Christmas lights outside. JoElle helped with that, too. While we were driving, she kept pointing and saying "Christmas lights!" and she was asking for more. She loves the lights and Santa's everywhere. The next day (Saturday) when we woke up, she had to check to make sure that the Christmas tree and the stockings are still up!
On Saturday, JoElle and I slept in until noon, then we took a bath in my big tub. She loves to take baths in there. Her favorite thing right now is to color in the tub with her bathtub crayons.

JoElle has been telling me "My teeth hurt" and "I need medicine on my teeth"
Can you believe her two year old molars STILL have not broken through? They have been trying to come in since her 18 month checkup......
The great thing is that she can tell me what hurts.

We went to the Shriner's circus in Ft. Worth, it was JoElle's first circus! She enjoyed it! Her fave part were the elephants. She kept asking for "more ephelants"
Then we ate at Galligaskin's (subway sandwiches) where JoElle licked all the peanut butter and jelly off her sandwich before eating the bread......
When we got home, Aunt Ana, Uncle Dan, Peyton and Madison were ate our house! JoElle wanted to hold Madison again and got upset that it was time for her to go to bed. Later, when Tim and I were out, JoElle and Peyton were squabbling over who would get to take the baby out of the swing. Peyton is becoming protective over his baby!

We ate out with Granny and Grandad at Bobby V's. JoElle liked munching on my salad; she kept dipping her croutons in my French dressing. Around bedtime (8:45 p.m.), she got really sleepy and quiet, she laid down with her head on the booth for a few minutes, I thought she was going to fall asleep!
But then....she springs up and is more hyper than ever! She kept waving at Tim's cousin, Reba and her husband Robby. Then she would hide behind me and say "Where's JoElle?" "Here I am!" too cute, I love the way she mimics my intonations.
She also gave me hugs around my neck and Daddy got hugs too! She was teasing Granny because Granny wanted to hug her....

Nana, Daddy and I enjoyed Thanksgiving lunch provided by JoElle's school, as always, Ms. Carol cooked a great meal!
When I picked her up, I asked her "Who ate lunch with you today?" I told her "Mommy and Daddy." then she told me "Nana" and I replied "Yes, Nana ate lunch with you."
Then.....she told me "Grandpa!" How sweet! My dad was there with us, too!
I never say Nana with Grandpa since they were divorced when he passed away, so it touched my heart for her to tell me this! It is amazing how many times I could tell she was seeing my dad or someone else that has gone before us. Now she has the words to tell me who she is seeing!
Sometimes she will pick up a picture of me, my sister and our dad, and she will lovingly say "Grandpa....!" How comforting it is to me that our family members in heaven still make an impression on our little ones here! Thank you Dad for looking out for me and your granddaughter. I know you are chuckling at all the funny things she does. Does she remind you of me when I was little?

JoElle is asking to wear panties lately, so we let her. About 30 minutes later, I hear "Uh oh" and find JoElle peeing in her panties, she is looking down thinking "oops!" Then we tried to make a big deal that she had an accident in her panties, again she wanted to wear them (she loves Dora on her panties!) and then she had another accident 30 minutes or so later....
Oh well, at least she wants to get out of pull ups!

JoElle couldn't keep her milk down in the morning, so I asked her "Does your tummy hurt?"
She told me, "My tummy hurts!" so I asked her, "Why does your tummy hurt?" and she answered, "Need coffee!"
So ever since then she has been telling me she is drinking coffee or she needs coffee. That day at school she also was pretending to make coffee with a tea pot while saying "I'm making coffee!"
Nov 9, 2006 For the first time, JoElle got out of her bed and came out of her room to find us! Up until today, she would always sleep until the last possible minute!
It was so cute seeing her pitter patter down the hallway to our room and into our bathroom looking for me!
Nov 10, 2006 JoElle had an upset tummy in the morning, she told me "My tummy hurts" so I asked her why? And she told me "Need coffee!" and then as school she was walking around with a play teapot saying "I'm making coffee!"
She doesn't actually drink coffee, but she knows I drink it everyday!

Did I ever say how much JoElle amazes me? She is constructing her sentences really well now. Tonight, in the bath tub, JoElle put a washcloth on her stomach, looked at me, and told me "The towel is on my tummy!" Plain as day, every word enunciated perfectly.
